On Tuesday, November the 5th 2024 the acting dean of the College of Sharia & Islamic Studies Prof. Sayed Mohammed Al-Tabtabaei welcomed the rector of the Islamic University in Uganda Prof. Ismail Simbwa Gyagenda and the accompanying delegation who were Prof. Abdul Kaziba Mpaata and Dr. Hamid Amir Byamugenzi. The visit aimed to explore new ways of enhancing the cooperation between both academic institutions as IUIU is considered the largest Islamic university in Africa, which offers undergraduate and post graduate degrees. The meeting discussions focused on exchanging expertise in scientific research and higher education.
At the dean’s office a meeting was held to receive the rector and his affiliates, where both parties discussed all potential areas of mutual benefit and cooperation.
The delegation was given a tour around the college’s facilities, showing them the classrooms, laboratories, and the college library, displaying the latest technologies and equipment that will be used and their importance in the application of scientific research and practical training of students.
After touring our college, the delegation expressed their admiration for the advanced level that has been obtained here at Kuwait University, especially with regards to the future of research and training resources due to the development of the college and its’ facilities. They emphasized the significance of this visit in the consolidation of relations between the two academic institutions, and the significant role it will play in exchanging and fostering of knowledge and expertise in the fields of Islamic studies.
On his behalf, Prof. Sayed Mohammed Al-Tababaei received the delegation with a warm welcome assuring the benefits of such academic visits in strengthening ties between educational institutions in Kuwait and Islamic universities worldwide, he emphasized the importance of joining efforts in the development of scientific research.
The dean concluded this visit by commending the delegation for their efforts and presented them with commemorative plaques as a token of appreciation.
