The Office of Guidance and Counseling at the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies, Kuwait University, held two orientation meetings for newly admitted male and female students on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. The meetings aimed to familiarize students with university life and introduce them to academic regulations, services, and guidance to support them as they begin their university journey.

The first meeting, for newly admitted male students, was held at 10:00 a.m. in Auditorium (222) in the South Building. The meeting was presented by Dr. Mohammed Al-Hedaya, Acting Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, who highlighted key academic and guidance-related information of interest to students and introduced the services available to them. He also addressed their inquiries and questions concerning their studies and university life.

The meeting also included an introduction to the academic departments of the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies. The College comprises four academic departments: the Department of Qur’anic Exegesis and Hadith, the Department of Creed and Da‘wah, the Department of Jurisprudence and Its Principles, and the Department of Comparative Jurisprudence and Islamic Legal Policy. The academic program in each department consists of 142 credit hours, fulfilling the requirements for specialization and providing students with the necessary academic preparation.

The second meeting, for newly admitted female students, was held at 12:00 noon in Auditorium (409) in the North Building, under the supervision of Ms. Manal Al-Ammar, Head of the Guidance and Counseling Department, and Ms. Iman Al-Hamazi, Social Supervisor. The meeting covered a range of academic guidance and counseling topics, introduced students to the nature of study at the College and its academic departments, and highlighted the services available to female students. The meeting also provided an opportunity to address their inquiries and questions, helping them make a successful start to their university life.

Both meetings addressed a number of topics of particular importance to newly admitted students, including the importance of adhering to university regulations and policies, following their academic plans, and making use of academic guidance and counseling services. These measures help students organize their academic journey and understand the requirements of their studies from the beginning of their enrollment at the College.

The organization of these two meetings reflects the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies’ commitment to preparing newly admitted students for university life, familiarizing them with the academic and university environment, and providing them with the necessary support and guidance from the beginning of their university journey. These efforts contribute to helping students achieve a successful and productive academic experience.
