Comparative Jurisprudence and Policy of Sharia

In the school year 1982/1983 our department was established with the
goal to teach comparative fqih and sharia policy courses by applying the
comparison method in an objective manner between fqih sectors and local
laws especially those implemented in the State of Kuwait.
Our department teaches all academic levels starting from bachelors,
masters and PHD. Also, it partakes with KU’s College of Law by offering some
courses for their students along with offering a generic course “Islamic
Culture” for all students in the university.
Our department contributes along with its peers in KU by participating in
general activities by hosting and presenting Friday Sermons, Sharia & religious
training courses, debates, seminars, television, and radio programs to spread
awareness across the country. Great relations have been built with
counterpart departments in other universities by exchanging expertise
through visiting professors, cooperating with the supervision and discussion
of higher education students’ research.
